Mission Statement

The Spokane Pharmacy Association was established in 1921 and is a voluntary association of pharmacists, student pharmacists, and pharmacy technicians. SPA’s purposes are to:

  • Assure the viability of the profession of Pharmacy by supporting the education of pharmacists, pharmacy technicians, and students;
  • Promote the competency of practitioners and maximize the profession’s contribution to patient care; and
  • Increase an awareness of these contributions and capabilities and their value not only to the profession, but also to other health-care practitioners and, in particular, the patient.

The Spokane Pharmacy Association Annual Meeting & Continuing Education is an annual event celebrating the Inland Northwest Pharmacy Community.

What this event is

  • An annual meeting celebrating the Inland Northwest Pharmacy Community.
  • Features an excellent dinner, exhibitor showcase, auction, speaker, awards ceremony, and plenty of pharmacy community!
  • The SPA will present its awards: Pharmacist of the Year, Pharmacy Technician of the Year, Student Pharmacist/Pharmacy Resident of the Year, Speaker of the Year, and the Pharmacy of the Year.

International Pharmacy Focus

The Pharmacy Focus this quarter is on a special group of pharmacies who provided a memorable glimpse into U.S. pharmacy practices to a select group of Japanese pharmacy students who were attending Mukogawa Fort Wright Institute (MFWI) this last summer.  This unique exchange is a cooperative venture between Spokane pharmacies and the English language program at MFWI.


About 20-25 pharmacy students were curious and excited to practice their English skills as well as learn about the difference in pharmacy practices between the U.S. and Japan.
