This is an exciting time of year as we look ahead at the holidays, including the New Year. It is a chance to grow both personally and professionally. If you are looking for that next leadership opportunity or want to increase your network and interact with other health care professionals, now is the time to take action!

The Spokane Pharmacy Association (SPA) is currently accepting nominations and applications for the Board of Managers for the next term starting January 2021.

We are seeking pharmacists and pharmacy technicians to fill our Board.

Call for Award Nominations | 2020 Annual Meeting

Annually the Spokane Pharmacy Association (SPA) honors outstanding pharmacists, pharmacy technicians, students, and pharmacies for their accomplishments and service to the pharmacy profession and to our community.

Submit nominations for the following categories by Thursday, February 6, 2020.

  • Pharmacist of the Year
  • Pharmacy Technician of the Year
  • Pharmacy Student/Resident of the Year
  • Pharmacy of the Year

The award winners will be recognized at the SPA Annual Meeting on February 20, 2020 at the McGinnity Room.

Rules/Stipulations:

  • You do not have to be an SPA member to nominate or receive the award.
  • Nominees can come from any area of pharmacy practice.
  • Current SPA board members are not eligible to receive awards.
  • Please provide a short statement explaining why you think the nominee deserves the award.

SPA Board Nominations

We invite you to submit your name and information for a Spokane Pharmacy Association Board of Managers position.

SPA has served the Spokane Community since 1921. Our Board of Managers is made up of pharmacists, pharmacy technicians, and pharmacy students.

We work together to meet our mission, which is to assure the viability of the profession of Pharmacy by supporting the education of pharmacists, pharmacy technicians, and students; promote the competency of practitioners and maximize the profession’s contribution to patient care; and increase an awareness of these contributions and capabilities and their value not only to the profession, but also to other health-care practitioners and, in particular, the patient.

Event | Student CV/Resume Review

October 30, 2018

The Spokane Pharmacy Association will be hosting our Third Annual CV/Resume Group Review Session for student pharmacists on Tuesday October 30, 2018. Students! Come have your CV or resume reviewed by various pharmacy leaders in the community.

Students will be in small groups and will have the opportunity to meet with a pharmacist as they briefly review each student’s completed CV in quick 15 minute rotations.

Food (Panda Express) provided.

We Need Pharmacist Volunteers!

We need some volunteers to serve as CV/resume reviewers! If you are pharmacist and interested in helping give our local students a leg up in their job search, please contact please contact Anastasia Corolenco at anastasia.corolenco@wsu.edu.

The Spokane Pharmacy Association is accepting applications and nominations for volunteers who are interested in serving on the SPA board of directors.

2018 Allen I. White Lecture

The WSU College of Pharmacy will be hosting its 2018 Allen I. White Lecture next Tuesday, March 13, from 12 – 1 p.m.

Keynote speaker: Richard Okita, Ph.D.
Program Director in the Division of Pharmacology, Physiology and Biological Chemistry, National Institute of General Medical Sciences
