– Describe the American College of Gastroenterology-Canadian Association of Gastroenterology’s Clinical Practice Guideline suggestions regarding management of anticoagulants and antiplatelets during acute GIB and peri-endoscopic period
– Describe the suggestions given in the statement from the International Society on Thrombosis and Hemostasis regarding management of bleeding risk in patients who receive anticoagulants therapy for venous thromboembolism
– Recognize the effectiveness and safety of apixaban versus warfarin in venous thromboembolism patients with chronic kidney disease
– Describe the recommendations of peri-operative management of anticoagulant or antiplatelet therapy when an elective invasive procedure is planned
– Recognize limitations in the literature and guidance statements for patients on antithrombotic therapy requiring a planned elective procedure.

The Washington State Pharmacy Association is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education as a provider of continuing pharmacy education.

To Earn CE Credit
To receive credit, you must be a SPA member and complete the evaluation as validation of attending. The evaluation as well as your NABP e-profile ID and birth date MMDD will need to be received by the WSPA in order for you to receive credit.

The Washington State Pharmacy Association only has 60 days from the date of the activity to upload the CPE information to the CPE Monitor. WSPA will upload the CE within 3-4 weeks after the event. It will be your responsibility to check the CPE Monitor before the 60 days to make sure the CE is uploaded in your profile. If there are any problems, you will need to contact WSPA at 425-228-7171. CE cannot be uploaded after the 60 days from the date of the event.
