Summer Newsletter

Message from the Board
By: SPA Executive Vice President Steven Webbenhurst

This time of year, I wake up and look at the thermometer. Do I need to wear jeans and a flannel shirt to go outside, or shorts and a t-shirt? Summer is a busy time for most of us. We try to pack 6 months worth of activities into about 100 days!

The board just met and planned out the balance of 2024 and beyond! We have lots to keep you busy as summer ends. We will start with an afternoon of trivia and beer up at Big Barn Brewery on Green Bluff on September 21st. It’s always a beautiful venue and fun day of trivia and great beer.

Tech Day is just around the corner after that, featuring 5-6 hours of CE for techs on Saturday, October 12th. Lots of great information and a convenient way to get those CE hours completed.

For both pharmacists and techs, we have multiple CEs planned as part of our 8 hours of free CE for members. Starting this fall, events will be available both in person and live online.

Later in the fall we plan another hatchet throwing event followed by pizza. It’s a lot of fun for the novice as well as the “expert”.

Our banquet committee is beginning to make plans for the annual awards banquet in the spring. Now is a great time to start thinking about who you want to nominate for our awards.

It’s also a great time to think about becoming a board member! Terms are for 2 years and start in January. What a great way to meet more people and give back to the pharmacy community.

Do you need a gift for someone in the pharmacy world? How about giving them a membership in the Spokane Pharmacy Association? And make sure your membership doesn’t lapse. Memberships are valid for 12 months.

Hope you have a great summer and hope to see you at one of our next events!

March Newsletter

Message from the Board
By: SPA Executive Vice President Steven Webbenhurst

As our weather turns warmer and the days get longer, we all start to get spring fever. It’s a busy time of the year as we all start spending more time outside, whether in our yard, exercising or simply enjoying the weather on a deck or balcony! I know my fridge is stocked and ready for the warmer weather 🙂

Spokane Pharmacy Association has been busy these first few months of the year. We have had 3 CE presentations with another scheduled for April 15th. We just celebrated with our annual meeting and awards banquet which was quite a smash! We also have another social program coming up on April 8th. We are bowling at Players and Spectators and will enjoy pizza and beverages while we bowl. Get more details and register here.

These are just a few reasons to remain a member. If you’re not a member, why not join today? You’ll save on our CE presentations, social events and more. And it’s great to invite coworkers to join and participate together in all our events!

Have an idea for a CE presentation or a social event? Reach out to us at info@spokanepharmacy.org or email me directly.
