Greetings SPA members,

Spring is officially here and our association has had a great start to 2026! We had our Annual Meeting and Awards Ceremony on Saturday March 14th at the beautiful Centennial Hotel. Dr. Danial Baker gave a great CE presentation on drug shortages and tools to anticipate and combat them. Congratulations to MultiCare Deaconess Inpatient Pharmacy, Andrew Pascal, Charlize Rudd and Michaela Miller who won Pharmacy of the Year, Pharmacist of the Year, Pharmacy Technician of the Year, and Pharmacy Student of the Year! Check out the pictures below for some highlights from the event. If you missed the event this year, please join us next year for an evening of fun and celebrating all things pharmacy!

SPA has several events planned for the next few months. As you know, we have continuing education monthly for most months of the year. Our next CE will be on Tuesday April 28th at 6 PM. Our CEs are available in person (at the Deaconess Health Education Center building) and virtually – AND are accredited for both pharmacists and technicians! We also have social events quarterly, and our next social event will be Trivia Night at Humble Abode brewery (downtown location) on Thursday, April 23’d at 6 PM. Come enjoy a beverage on SPA and show off your trivia skills!

Lastly, we currently have two open positions on our board – one technician co-chair position and one continuing education co-chair position. Each of these is a two-year term where you learn the ropes during the first year, then lead the position and teach others about the position during the second year.
